ISED Solutions Salutes Jewish Family Service of Buffalo & Erie County

 
ISED Solutions' Somali Bantu Community Development Project salutes Jewish Family Service of Buffalo & Erie County.  JFS is one of this year's mainstream mentor organizations, providing local organizational management advice and fiduciary oversight for the fledgling Bantu Community Organization of Buffalo.  JFS has gone above and beyond its partnership expectations by contributing not only time and resources to the BCO, but also an organizational platform from which the Bantu people can determine and address their own integration needs.
 
ISED Solutions believes local mainstream mentor organizations like JFS are essential to the successful, sustainable development of young ethnic community-based organizations.  Mentors not only contribute tangible resources, but they also connect ethnic community leaders to mainstream 'key-holders' in the broader society.  Mentor organizations are, in this way, critical to the prevention of social marginalization of entire resettled refugee communities.
 
So, thank you to Marlene Schillinger and everyone at JFS for their strong commitment to the BCO and Buffalo's resettled refugee communities!
