Cafe Reconcile in New Orleans: A Culinary Experience & a Great Training Program

Friends, I just spent a wonderful day in New Orleans after a two-day visit in Baton Rouge.  Both resettlement sites are full of energy and good ideas.  I just have to tell you about the exciting eatery we visited on Thursday (4/29) in NOLA.   The restaurant is called Cafe Reconcile.   Young people selected to participate work on academic skills, life skills, and they receive training in culinary arts.  In short, they learn to cook, to wait tables, to stock the kitchen, and to act as steward to the nearly 150 customers they serve each day.   And t

ORR IDA Grantees met in Columbus Ohio for the Annual Workshop. The Workshop was hosted by ECDI of Columbus. ECDI staff and management far surpassed our expectations as hosts and participants.
