"Trying to Connect the Somali Bantu with the Community in a Positive Way"


 
The start of the World Cup last Friday had the folks in Utica thinking, "Why travel to South Africa when the whole world lives right here in Upstate?"  This past weekend, the Redeemer Church of Utica organized the first annual Redeemer Cup (and a nice website to go along with it) - a two-day soccer tournament that brought together Utica's different ethnic and national groups in a competitive forum.

Somali Bantu 2010 Workshop: Leaders Sharing Promising Practices


 
ISED Solutions Somali Bantu Community Development Project held its 2010 Project Workshop in Syracuse, New York on March 27th and 28th.  Thirty-five attendees from five cities, along with ISED Solutions' Lynn Robson, George Wright, and Carrie McCabe attended this important learning event, which was graciously hosted by Abdullahi Ibrahim, Haji Adan, and all of the good people at the Somali Bantu Community Organization of Central New York.
